Meaning
The Five of Swords brings the five energy of Swords (Air): challenge or loss that asks you to adapt, in the area of thoughts, words, decisions and conflict.
upright
Hollow win, conflict cost. Upright, this card leans into its strengths: hollow win, conflict cost. In a reading it invites you to notice where this is already showing up and to give it a little room.
reversed
Amends, walking away wiser. Reversed, the energy is blocked, inward or overdone: amends, walking away wiser. It is not a bad omen, just a cue to slow down and look at what needs care.
In love & friendship
In love: upright, hollow win colours the connection; reversed, watch for amends.
In work & purpose
In work: upright, lean on conflict cost; reversed, walking away wiser may need attention.
